New narratives towards a gender equal sociеty!

The DatkAyim project team met with the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development and the head of the Gender Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the initial stage of the Project a meeting was organized with the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Janyl Ishenbekovna and the head of the Department of Gender Affairs of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Roza Kubatalievna.
At the meeting, Zulfiya Kochorbaeva, Director of the NGO “Agency of Social Technologies” told about the areas of cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development under the project.
She also reported that the project will assist in the development and implementation of gender-sensitive journalism standards in Kyrgyzstan to support the implementation of task 31.3 of the National Action Plan to achieve gender equality for 2018-2020.
Also, the Project will work to improve coordinated interagency cooperation on the prevention and response to gender discrimination and violence at the national and local levels through improving the capacity of the ministries responsible for gender issues (GSA) and the organization of committees on protection and protection from family violence at the local community level.
Zhanyl Ishenbekovna and Roza Kubatalievna noted the relevance of the project objectives, expressed their willingness to cooperate and thanked for their future contribution to the development of gender policy in the country. They noted that the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, as an authorized body in the field of gender policy will actively participate in promoting standards of gender-sensitive journalism and increasing the capacity of ministries and agencies responsible for gender issues.
The project “DatkAyim – Promoting gender equality in a new way” is implemented by the NGO “Agency of Social Technologies” and the Center for Creative Creation Centro per lo sviluppo creativo Danilo Dolci with the support of the European Union in Kyrgyzstan
