EU-KR Gender Seminar
On 14-February 2020, the DatkAyim project team participated in the seminar “Gender workshop 2020” organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic.
The seminar was attended by representatives of state bodies – responsible for gender issues, representatives of project partners, team leaders and experts of EU projects, representatives of international donors and EU member states, and staff of the EUEP.
The aim of the seminar was to consider ways in which EU programmes can contribute to the promotion of gender-transformative approach.
Welcoming speeches were made by Charlotte Adrien, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, and Janyl Alybaeva, Deputy Minister of MLSD of the Kyrgyz Republic. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nadira Syntashevna Jusupbekova also spoke at the seminar with a presentation on “Development of methodology and institutionalization of anti-discrimination and gender expertise of CMI in Kyrgyzstan.
Seminar participants noted the importance of interaction of all structures to achieve gender equality and dynamic development of society. The workshop also discussed further actions within the EU gender policy, in particular, continuing gender mainstreaming in 2020 in EU-funded projects, achieving the objectives of the EU Gender Action Plan 2016-2020, alignment with the KR Gender Action Plan 2018-2020. As well as creating synergies with the Ray of Light initiative.
